Introductory

   Red Angel is a novel that I am currently working on. The story is about an American family that moves to China in 1875 to be missionaries and doctors. Patrick and Esmerelda Voldenbary adapt well, learn the language, develops friendships with the villagers and even starts a family. Esme soon gives birth to a baby girl, Victoria Rose.
   Not long after the birth of their first child, terror strikes the village of Xiwang and takes the lives of many people including Patrick and Esme. By request, the Voldenbarys's close friends, the Wongs, adopt little one month old Victoria.
   Mrs. Wong raises Victoria as her own daughter, even gives her a Chinese name. Mei Mei (Victoria) grows up not knowing anything of her past, only believing that she is pure Chinese. But somehow deep inside, she knows that she is different because she looks peculiar; not like the other Chinese people in her village.
   Mei Mei Wong embarks on a journey to find out who she truly is. Slowly she begins to unravel the mysteries of her past and along the way, she finds love, heartache, sorrow, and the person she was meant to be.
